Architecture Student Excels in California

Christian Garganta, rising senior in the B.A. Architectural Studies program, won an Excellence in Design Award from the California chapter of the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) for a third-year studio project carried out with EIA Fellow Prof. Camille Sherrod. Both attended the awards program in Napa California in February. https://www.saracalifornia.org/sara-ca-design-awards

The project was initiated as a team project that included his classmates, Emma Sanabria and Lusi Rossi. Christian then continued to develop the project on his own raising to its award level. "I am so thrilled to have received this recognition. I have never been to the west coast of the US and it is my first time traveling to California. The award is great and the experience even better," said Christian.

“With this award and its experience at the ceremony in Napa, California, Christian was among many outstanding professional architects and was able to gain valuable connections for future internships. Mentoring Christian has been rewarding in many ways," said Kean Assistant Professor Camille Sherrod.
